What keeps CEOs up at night?

Updated: Dec 27, 2023

A common answer is "My People!"

Did you know 2023 marked the first full year that Earth hosted 8 billion people, and there are more young people alive today than ever before in history?

You might wonder why this is important. For CEOs, this is a pivotal consideration in future planning for growth and development within the workforce.

Here are five key areas to contemplate:

  1. Innovation and Creativity: Young minds often bring fresh perspectives, embracing new technologies and ideas and fostering a culture of innovation.

  2. Diverse Skill Sets: A diverse workforce with a wide range of skills, talents, and experiences can enhance problem-solving capabilities and contribute to a more dynamic and adaptable workforce.

  3. Economic Growth: More people brings a larger labor force, which, when effectively utilized, can contribute to increased productivity and economic development.

  4. Global Competitiveness: A robust and dynamic workforce is crucial for attracting investments, fostering entrepreneurship, and maintaining competitiveness in the global economy.

  5. Social and Cultural Dynamism: Different perspectives, cultural backgrounds, and ideas can enrich social interactions and contribute to a more inclusive society.

Ah, there is another big question on the minds of CEOs. “Will artificial intelligence (AI) be a generator or distractor to top-line revenue growth and bottom-line profit results in 2024?”

That will be just one of the major questions CEOs will ponder at the Fourth Annual “Growth & Scale Summit” from 1–5 pm Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the UC Irvine Beall Applied Innovation Center. Registration is open to the public.

If you are in Orange County, California, or willing to attend, I will be one of the CEOs speaking and am honored for the opportunity.

About 200 CEOs and c-suite executives will interact with a panel of more than a dozen experts to discuss growth, challenges, and trends, including talent, operations, finance, and marketing strategies.

“This forum is a comprehensive look at technology integration and digital transformation, says Scott Hamilton, President and CEO of Executive Next Practices Institute (ENP Forums). "We will also share economic and financial updates, so CEOs can know what to expect for 2024 and 2025.”

We are also pleased to share that Dr. Larry Taylor, Chairman of the National Association for Corporate Directors, is joining as a keynote presenter. Corent, Amazon Web Services, RSM, and Turkish Airlines have joined as sponsors. Dean Ian Williamson of the UCI Merage School of Business will be attending to lend his perspective on AI-driven education.

If you are interested in joining us the early bird registration rate expires on December 23.

Henry DeVries states it perfectly - What grow and scale topics do you think I should be prepared to talk about? Or should I just ask chatGPT?
